School Start and Finish Times

The school office is open from 8.30am to 4.00pm and the telephone number is 01282 614463.


Start times - pupils are to arrive from 8.45am onwards and must be in their classrooms by 8.55am, when lessons will commence.


Parents are to drop children off at the gate.


End of school day - pupils in Classes Pendle and Barley will finish at 3.25pm -any pupil who has an older sibling in school will wait in the school playground for their older sibling(s).


Pupils in Classes Marsden, Towneley and Wycoller will finish at 3.30pm.

Investigating Dyes

Lesson: Science

Class: Wycoller Year: 2019-2020

Natural dyes are dyes or colourants derived from plants, invertebrates, or minerals.  Throughout history, people have used a range of natural dyes to change the colour of textiles until the development of synthetic dyes in the Victorian times.  In science, year 6 have been investigating the effectiveness of a range of natural and synthetic dyes.
