PE at Home

Hi guys! Welcome to PE at Home with Mr. Ashworth! You will find daily challenges and workouts here to keep you active whilst working on your core skills. The challenges and workouts are for all children and even the whole family - so get them involved too!  Just scroll down the page to find my latest challenge.

Week 1

Thursday 7th January 2021

TOWEL TARGET THROW - Can you complete the challenge in under 1 minute. 

(Here is the link to the timer if you wish to use the same one - Timer)

Watch the video for a guide and to also watch Mr. A have a go himself! Will he do it?

Remember! Star jumps before every throw to get the heart rate up. Also, you can make the challenge/game easier or harder - watch the video to learn how.

Younger Children (Reception, Year 1 and 2) - how many times can you land the sockball on the towel in 1 minute?!

Friday 8th January 2021

Fitness Friday - Get a sweat on and work on your fitness with this short but tough workout. Remember - get the family involved too!

The workout consists of 2 rounds with 4 exercises in each (no equipment needed). Don't worry you get a rest inbetween too.

Older children and adults - test yourself with the harder exercises and complete more rounds - try and do the workout 3 times, why not?! (after the video go back to the start of round 1 to complete your 'second workout' and then repeat as many times as you like).

Younger children - follow me and select the easier exercises.

Week 2 

Monday 11th January 2021

It's a new week and you have a new challenge - 'THE ULTIMATE BOTTLE FLIP CHALLENGE!' This is a tough one, even Mr. Ashworth found it difficult but give it a go and enjoy it.

As always you can make it harder or easier so all of you can join in. To make it harder add in more books or paper (you'll understand when you watch the video) or to make it easier you can take books or paper away - it is as simple as that.

You have one minute to beat the timer (or two minutes if you want to make it easier again). The link for the timer is above. REMEMBER - send in your pictures to feature on the website and you could also get a special 'superstar shout-out' in the videos!

Something Mr. Ashworth forgot to mention in the video - fill your water bottles to just under half way which help land your flips! smiley

Have a go at the 'Crab Walk Collection' challenge. This challenge will focus on some of your gymnastic skills; travelling and balancing. It will also test your muscle strength and endurance. Give it a go and have some fun!

FITNESS FRIDAY IS BACK!

Join in with this workout to burn off some energy whilst working on your fitness!

If you want to really test how fit you are - follow the video more than once and see how much you can get through.

Can you use your short passing skills to complete the challenge in time? Mr. Ashworth didn't do very well with this one - he has clearly not played football for a while!

Week 5

Monday 1st February 2021

Have a go at the 'Frog Relay Challenge' and test your lower body strength and endurance.

Can you beat the score of 5 set by Mr. Ashworth?!

For this challenge you will need; 2 boxes/buckets for the socks, 10-15 pair of socks, 4 books (something similar to zig zag in and out of) and a pair of trainers for a start line. See the set up below -
