School Council Elections 2019/20

Macmillan Coffee Morning - Friday 27th September 2019

The annual Macmillan Coffee Morning was attended by many parents. An amazing £167.15 was raised. Thank you to everybody to donated.

       

 

Harvest - Tuesday 1st October 2019

Mrs Durham from Blackburn Diocese led our Harvest Festival. The service was based on Jesus Stops  A Storm from the Book of Matthew.

        

 

Jack in the Beanstalk - Friday 1st November

Pupil enjoyed a visit from a theatre production company, who performed (with the help of staff and pupils) the pantomime Jackand the Beanstalk.

                

 

Children in Need - Friday 15th November 2019

A coffee morning was held to raise funds for Children in Need. An amazing  £172.85 was raised. Thank you to everybody who donated.

             

 

RE Day - Friday 22nd November 2019

What a fantastic day we have had in school today! We have been focusing on our spiritual thinking and exploring ways in which we can make that connection with God. The children's spirited artwork was amazing and it was so interesting to share with each other where we think God could be. We looked at 'The Big Story' in Understanding Christianity and explored the concept of 'Incarnation'. We made links to global Christianity and looked at how Christmas is celebrated around the world.

                

 

No electricity day - Wednesday 27th November 2019

Pupils and staff worked without electricity (no lights, whiteboards, computers and photocopiers). This was part of the Eco Fortnight initiative.

         

Reading Buddies

Older pupils have teamed up with younger pupils to inspire them with their reading.

       

 

Christmas Songs - Friday 6th December 2019

The choir performed Christmas songs for members of the public at Nelson Library and also for residents at Heather Grange Care Home.

       

 

School of Dance - Blackpool Tower Ballroom - Monday 9th December 2019

Pupils in Year 2 and Class Marsden participated in a School of Dance event at Blackpool Tower Ballroom. Thank you to the many parents who came to support this event.

               

 

Light Camel Action - Friday 13th December 2019

Pupils performed the Christmas Production "Lights Camel the Action - The Sequin".

                

 

Christmas Jumper Day - Monday 16th December 2019

Pupils and staff participated in a "Christmas Jumper Day" to raise funds for the Save the Children.

   

Chrismas Lunch - Thursday 19th December 2019

Pupils enjoyed a festive lunch of Quorn Fillet and vegetables following by ice cream.

            

 

 

Primary Stars Competition - Monday 20th January 2020

Pupils entered a football tournament as part of a Primary Stars Competition at the Leisure Box.

           

 

Worship - led by Rev Hilliard - Tuesday 25th Feburary 2020

Rev Hilliard led worship and the pupils learnt about Fairtrade.

 

Safer Internet Day - Friday 28th February 2020

Pupils looked at how to keep safe online.

                

 

World Book Day - Thursday 5th March 2020

Pupil dressed as " a word" to celebrate World Book Day. The day culminated in a parade of the inventive costumes. 

             

 

Skipathon - Friday 11th March 2020

Pupils and parents joined in a Skipathon to raise fund for Sports Relief.

            

 

Worship - led by Rev Hilliard - Tuesday 10th March 2020

Rev Hilliard led worship and the pupils learnt about temptation. (Luke 4: 1-12)
