Our last cookery club session finished with a meal for parents - cooked by the children. The parents enjoyed, potato curry chapattis and fresh fruit. All agreed it was amazing. All children promised that they would continue cooking at home.
Helping at the BFC in the community food bank
Wycoller visited the BFC Community kitchen on Tuesday 26th November 2019. We helped to wrap some Christmas boxes and we organised and restocked the shelves. Nathan, who showed us around, informed us that he had never seen the shelves so tidy. It is still not too late to donate to this worthy cause. They need dried goods such as: tins, rice and pasta. They also need toiletries and toilet rolls. Just bring the items in to school and leave them in the reception area.
RE Day 22nd November 2019
What a fantastic day we have had in school today! We have been focusing on our spiritual thinking and exploring ways in which we can make that connection with God. The children's spirited artwork was amazing and it was so interesting to share with each other where we think God could be. We looked at 'The Big Story' in Understanding Christianity and explored the concept of 'Incarnation'. We made links to global Christianity and looked at how Christmas is celebrated around the world.
Mrs Durham from Blackburn Diocese led our Harvest Festival on Tuesday 1st October 2019. The service was based on Jesus Stops A Storm from the Book of Matthew.
