Miss M. Thacker - Chair of Governors

Previously I was a Head Teacher at a local school for 17 years and also support the Southfield Community Action Forum as a committee member. I have lived in Lancashire since 1979 and moved to the Pendle area in 1996. My interests are local history, walking and travelling.
Revd. L. Hilliard - Vice Chair of Governors
Hello I am the Vice Chair of Governors and the Vicar of the Church linked to the school. I have been in Nelson 8 years. Prior to that I worked in a church in Hull. Before training for ministry in Durham I lived in Surrey and worked as an engineer developing instrumentation for the oil and pharmaceutical industries. My first degree was in physics and I am still keen on astronomy. My biggest leisure interests are hill walking and travelling. I am passionate about the opportunities in church schools to provide excellent all round education.
Mrs. J. Hartley - School Staff Governor
I am the School Staff Governor and have been so for the last 10 years. I was born in Nelson and currently live in Colne and with the exception of 5 years in France have lived in Pendle all my life. My daughter went to primary school/high school/college in Pendle and I have a keen interest in local education and the local environment.
Mr. H Simpson - Chair of Resources
I was born in Kent but have lived in Barrowford since 1979 and been involved with a number of community organisations, including Pennine Community Credit Union (PCCU) and Pendle Heritage Centre. I was a local government officer with Burnley Borough Council almost all my working life but I am now retired.
I was a Governor for many years at my son's school Edge End Secondary School. Between 2008 and 2015 I worked for Lancashire County Council, Governor Services, supporting nursery, primary and secondary school governing bodies in Burnley and Pendle.
I am passionate about education's role in tackling disadvantage and discrimination and about every child realising their full potential.
